Doraville City Hall will soon be knocked down, in preparation for the rebuilding of a city center from scratch in northern DeKalb County.
Doraville officials recently selected McMillan Pazdan Smith as lead architect and Choate Construction as general contractor for a major redevelopment aimed at reviving the historic heart of the Atlanta suburb. Real estate developer Kaufman Capital Partners is working with the city to realize the expansive project.
The redevelopment is set to take shape across 20 acres between New Peachtree Road and Buford Highway near the Doraville MARTA station. Bordered to the north by Interstate 285, the area is now primarily home to vacant land and aging municipal buildings. A master plan calls for filling it with a new government complex, commercial space, apartments and green space.
